Pricing Guide for Commission Quilts
Base prices for quilts of various sizes are as follows:
|Size||Base Price*||Down Payment|
Terms of Sale for Commission Quilts
A down payment of 50% of the *base purchase price is required with your order. The
final invoice will include all applicable taxes, customizing charges and shipping costs.
The balance is due upon your receipt of the final invoice. Down payments are non-refundable 2
weeks after acknowledgement of your order. Because all quilts are special orders, standard
delivery is 6 - 9 months from my receipt of your down payment. Special requests may extend completion time.
Sometimes you can find a deep emotional satisfaction in a simple pattern.
If your tastes in life are more complex, you'll have to pay for the privilege. Curved seams,
intricate designs, handwork, and appliqué can add up to 50% to the original *base price of the quilt.
The more complex the design, the longer it takes, and the more skill and technical ability is
required of the artist.
Some clients want to join in the act, either helping to choose or provide
fabrics, change designs, or simply have a customized creation which reflects their philosophy,
desire for color, or living room decorations. Depending on what is called for to realize this
vision, the price can be influenced by up to 50%.
All jackets are special orders, sized for the customer. Quilted jackets have a base price of $300,
which includes a basic pattern and selection of fabrics. Additional customizations of patterns, special
requests or unique fabrics will influence the price accordingly.
A Note About Cats, Quilts and Allergies
I live and quilt in a small house. I have a 19-year-old cat. Anyone who has ever lived with
felines will realize that it is impossible to keep a cat off a cozy blanket. This goes for
quilts, too, in all stages of construction. If you, or someone you know is prone to allergies,
you should know that all of my quilts, whether I like it or not, have been slept on, walked on,
shed on or otherwise “cattified.” If you are allergic to cats and are interested in one of my
quilts, please let me know, and I will have the quilt dry-cleaned and hermetically sealed prior
to delivery. Other than that, you’re on your own!
